- Document Description
- CDCR will construct two new water storage tanks within the Folsom State Prison (FSP) property. Each tank will be a 750,000 gallon welded still tank with concrete footing. These tanks will increase fire water storage capacity and must meet emergency and domestic water usage requirements, maintain operational storage volumes and fire flow as required by the 2016 California Fire code. In addition, fire water pump station equipment could be skid-mounted and installed on a slab foundation and self-contained within an integrated skid-mounted water enclosure. The water tanks will be adjacent and coupled with existing water storage tanks that serve FSP and California State Prison - Sacramento (SAC). This project is needed to ensure unimpeded operations and the safety of inmates and staff at FSP and SAC.

- The projects consist of minor alterations to existing facilities that involve no expansion of use. The project site is not in an environmental sensitive area and none of the exceptions to this exemption are applicable. This is one of a class of projects that the Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant effect on the environment, and therefore is declared to be categorically exempt from the requirement for preparing an environmental document. None of the exceptions to a notice of exemption apply.
