Document Description
The proposed project will include the redesign and resurfacing of the existing Reserve parking lot and entrance roads with the goal of improved traffic flow and an established student drop off area for busses. These improvements will create a more engaging and efficient experience for Reserve visitors and move the Reserve towards meeting its management goal of increasing awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the Elkhorn Slough Reserve.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt as it is the extension parking lot. The project site consists of existing asphalt and gravel lots, both in current use. These are high visitor and staff vehicle use areas. There are no known sensitive species on the project site. There are no active animal burrows on the site. Demolition and construction will begin in July 2019. A NEPA review was completed and a categorical exclusion was granted for construction at this site.
