Document Description
The Project involves nine (9) 200-foot deep exploratory geotechnical borings at two bridge locations for the collection data to be used in the design phase for the Yokohi Creek Bridge and the Kaweah River Bridge. Five (5) borings will occur through the roadway and bridge decks into their respective bed and bank, and four (4) will be bored through the shoulder backing adjoining the roadway into the soils just outside the stream banks approaching eh bridges from both directions. All nine borings will be advanced using a truck-mounted drill rig employing the hollow stem auger or mud rotary self-casing drilling mehods. Soils data will be collected from the nine borings for use evaluating the density, strength, and liquefaction potential of the underlying soils.
