The District is undertaking the funding for a project demonstration in coordination with BNSF Railway. The project demonstration involves, a single Battery Electric Locomotive (BEL), two hybrid electric rubber tire gantry cranes, one electric side loader, and one electric drayage truck and its location will be at BNSF's intermodal yards in Stockton and San Bernardino. Electric vehicle charging infrastructure will be installed on BNSF's existing site and will involve minor trenching activities to install the charging stations. This project may be funded through a California Air Resources Board grant.
