Document Description
Street and fruit tree planting, bio-swales, and sidewalk cuts will occur in developed urban areas focused on low income and disadvantaged areas of Long Beach. 4000 appropriate trees will be planted and maintained utilizing established partners and a tree planting campaign that engages resident s to help plant, water and care for new trees and maintain bio-swales. This project fits under portions of Class 4-Minor Alterations to Land and Class 6, Information Collection. Review by CAL FIRE staff confirmed that no exceptions apply that would preclude the use of a notice of exemption for this project. The department has concluded that no significant environmental impact would occur to aesthetics, agriculture and forestland or timberland, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use planning mineral resources, noise, population and housing, public services, recreation, transportation or traffic, or to utilities and service systems. Class 6 consists of basic data collection, research, experimental management and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. Documentation of the environmental review completed by the Department is kept on file at CAL FIRE Headquarters, 1416 Ninth Street, Sacramento, CA.
