Document Description
On January 29, 2019, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors authorized the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and Chief Executive Officer to allocate funding for construction of the proposed project to enter in to a lease with a non-profit who will construct and operate the project. The proposed project consists of construction of interim housing (with accommodations for up to approximately 320 people) and associated intake clinic, dining, administration, chapel and security on a 118,500 square foot (2.72-acre) county-owned, currently vacant site. Interim housing is a form of homeless shelter that provides temporary housing for the homeless to bridge the gap between living on the street and more permanent form of housing. The project would be comprised of six main prefabricated buildings (each about 28 feet tall): Intake Building - includes intake/waiting area, sobering beds, psychiatric beds, examination, isolation/calming/flexible rooms, nurses station, security station, staff room, small kitchen, small dining/lounge;
