Document Description
The Department of Fish and Wildlife is issuing a permit to the marine science institue (MSI) oursuant to Fish and Game Code section 2081 (a) for trawl surveys in San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento River Delta. The Section 2081 (a) permit authorizes the MSI to take longfin Smelt, Delta Smelt, and Chinook Salmon during the course of its survey subject to terms and conditions set forth in the permit. The purpose of this survey is to provide a hands-on science education program for San Francisco Bay Area school children from 4th grade through college aboard the R/V Rovert G. Brownlee. The MSI will survey 3 stations within south and Central San Francisco Bay (San Matei Vrudge, Dumberton Bridge, South Hampton SHoal) and 1 station in the Sacramento River Delta (Broad Slough) using an otter trawl net. The surveys will ovvur year-round, january-february in the Sacramento River Delta and March-December in San Francisco Bay, twice daily, Monday through Saturday.
