Document Description
Modernization and operation of the Dixon Middle School. The site of the project is the former Old Dixon High School campus site located at 455 E. A St, Dixon, CA 95620. During its operation, the Old Dixon HS served approx 1,300 students. It is anticipated that the Dixon MS will serve approx 700-900 students, substantially less than the Old Dixon HS served. The property is currently being used as the District's central kitchen facility and as the City of Dixon's teen center. The property, including the multi-purpose room and the gym facilities, are also used by other outside groups on a regular basis.
The project will generally consist of the modernization of the property for use as the middle school, installation of new and updated equipment, and removal of 15 portable buildings. The majority of the project consists of addressing fire/life/safety, accessibility, HVAC, and classroom functionality issues. The project will not involve any expansion of the property or the facilities thereon.

The project consists of the modernization and operation of the Dixon MS. The project will not involve any expansion of the property or the facilities thereon. The property is not located in an area of statewide, regional, or area-wide concern identified in CEQA guidelines section 15206(b)(4). The proposed project is not subject to any of the exceptions to exemption set forth in CEQA Guidelines section 15300.2.
