Document Description
The purpose of this project is to maximize energy efficiency and service life while reducing cost for lighting panels in commercial and residential buildings. The proposed approach is to establish a new technology platform for making novel lighting luminaries at customary sizes and ready for replacement "drop-in" for lighting fixtures on a grand scale for commercial and residential customers. The benefits of the project, as related to the California Investor-Owned Utility (IOU) electricity ratepayers, are to lower the energy use for indoor lighting, reduce peak demand and lectric grid loads to improve grid reliability, and eliminate the risks associated with fluorescent tube breaks to increase safety.
