The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has approved a Class 1* Permit Modification to Quemetco, Inc. that was required in a letter to DTSC dated June 12, 2018. The Class 1* Permit Modification would allow Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) to be added to the washing (treatment) of the contaminated plastic that is separated from the metallic components of the spent lead-acid battery is shredded in the battery wrecker.
