Document Description
SNC would provide funding to American Rivers to implement vegetation treatments on up to 570 acres of private land. The proposed treatment type is a Wildland-Urban Interface Fuels Reduction within tree and shrub fuel types. The proposed treatment activities would include prescribed burning (including both pile burning and broadcast burning), manual and mechanical treatments. Ongoing maintenance of initial treatments would involve the same vegetation treatment types and activities used in the initial treatment. American Rivers has applied to Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) for grant funding to implement the project. SNC and American Rivers have prepared a Project-Specific Analysis (PSA) and Addendum to the Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) for the California Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP) to evaluate if the proposed project is within the scope of the CalVTP PEIR and provide environmental information to SNC and American Rivers in compliance with CEQA. The Hoyt-Purdon Fuel Reduction and Prescribed Fire Project PSA/Addendum was prepared to evaluate the project as a later activity covered by the CalVTP PEIR. SNC is the CEQA lead agency, using this PSA/Addendum to the CalVTP EIR for CEQA review of the project.
