CAL FIRE would provide funding to help implement vegetation treatments and maintenance treatments within Butano State Park in San Mateo County. Treatment activities include prescribed burning, manual and mechanical thinning, and herbicide application. The purpose of these treatments is to reduce density and continuity of dead, dying, diseased and overly dense vegetation and promote biodiverse ecosystems dominated by a mosaic of healthy vegetation representing various size and age-classes.
