Document Description
Yuba Roadside Fuel Treatment Project PSA/Addendum to the CaiVTP PEIR (SCH# 2019012052): Yuba County proposes to implement vegetation treatments on up to 12,960 acres of land along 555 miles of public and private roadways in Yuba County. Yuba County will enter into a partnership with The Yuba Watershed Protection and Fire Safe Council (Yuba FSC) to implement the proposed treatments. The partnership may entail the provision of resources to Yuba FSC including encroachment permits for county road access and technical input. Yuba County and the Yuba FSC have prepared a Project Specific Analysis (PSA) and Addendum to the Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) for the California Vegetation Treatment Program (CaiVTP) to evaluate if the proposed project is within the scope of the CaiVTP PEIR, consider the expansion of treatments outside the treatable landscape analyzed in the CaiVTP PEIR, and provide environmental information to Yuba County and Yuba FSC in compliance with CEQA. Proposed treatment types are fuel break and wildland-urban interface (WUI) fuel reduction. Proposed treatment activities are mechanical and manual treatments, herbicide application, and prescribed burning (pile burning only). The Yuba Roadside Fuel Treatment Project PSA/Addendum was prepared to evaluate the project as a later activity covered by the CaiVTP PEIR.
