The Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District (District) proposes to implement vegetation treatments on up to 1,350 acres of land within Sonoma Land Trust's Little Black Mountain Preserve, Pole Mountain Preserve, and Laufenberg in Sonoma County, and Live Oaks Ranch Preserve in Sonoma and Napa counties. The District will enter into a partnership with Sonoma Land Trust to implement the proposed treatments. The District has prepared a Project-Specific Analysis (PSA) and Addendum to the Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) for the California Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP) to evaluate if the proposed project is within the scope of the CalVTP PEIR, consider the expansion of treatments outside the treatable landscape analyzed in the CalVTP PEIR, and provide environmental information to the District and Sonoma Land Trust in compliance with CEQA. Proposed treatment types are fuel break and ecological restoration treatments. Proposed treatment activities are mechanical and manual treatments, herbicide application, and prescribed burning. The Sonoma Land Trust Preserves Vegetation Treatment Project PSA/Addendum was prepared to evaluate the project as a later activity covered by the CalVTP PEIR.
