The California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention (CAL FIRE) has prepared a Project-Specific Analysis (PSA) for the project as a later activity covered by the California Vegetation Treatment Project (CalVTP) Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Round Tree VTP. The Round Tree VTP entails implementation of vegetation treatments on up to 224 acres of land in Mariposa County, 0.5 miles West of Ponderosa Basin community. The proposed treatment types (fuel break and Wildland-Urban Interface Fuel Reduction) and treatment activities (manual treatments, mechanical treatments, and prescribed (pile) burning) are consistent with those evaluated in the CalVTP Program EIR. Maintenance treatments would involve the same vegetation treatment types and activities used in the initial treatments.
