Document Description
Environmental Review of a Coastal Development Permit for a dairy facility and milking barn approx 125,000 sf in area. The building will be located in an area currently utilized for grazing. A biological assessment has been prepared which has identified the project as being located outside of wetland areas and environmentally sensitive habitat area. The proposed facility would milk up to 2,500 cows. The free stall barn and milking parlor would utilize a slated floor design for efficient, water free handling of manure, thus reducing methane gas production. Water will be provided to the barn from an existing well. The operation of the barn shall be in accordance with approval from the RWQCB.
