Document Description
The proposed project is necessitated by a need for repair, maintenance, and replacement of the existing in-water facilities on the project site that are used in the repair of military and other vessels. The project sponsor is seeking a Coastal Development Permit (CDP) to implement two components. The first component is replacement of three wharves that have severely deteriorated. The second component includes installation of replacement piles that would occur on an as-needed basis at the two main piers within the project site, as well as three smaller piers. One of the existing piers would be demolished and no re-built. There would be no increase in operational capacity at the site following completion of the project. Construction is expected to begin mid-to-late 2019 and be completed in 2023.
