Document Description
The purpose of the MBHMP is to provide a programmatic approach to management of habitats that support monarch butterfly seasonal aggregations, while maintaining the Coverage Area's functionality as habitat for other plants and other animals, such as red-shouldered hawks, turkey vultures, and acorn woodpeckers. The City prepared the MBHMP in compliance with the two, key policy documents that drive the protection of monarch butterflies in Goleta: the city of Goleta GP/Coastal land use plan and Ellwood-Devereux Coast Open Space and habitat management plan.
