Document Description
The proposed project consists of creating a "Complete Streets" element that includes: bulb-out crossings, bike lanes, cycle tracks (Class IV Separated Bikeways) and/or buffered bike lanes, mini-roundabouts, streets lights, and ADA compliant curb ramps. The proposed roundabouts would serve as iconic "gateways" to the Civic Center area and serve as physical and visual cues to drivers that they are entering a multi-modal environment. Raised landscaped and/or hardscaped medians would facilitate the channeling of traffic at the roundabouts, provide pedestrian refuge at crossings, improve safety by eliminating conflicting vehicular movements from driveways, and improve aesthetics.
