Document Description
This project will seek to enclose a plam oasis water source (spring) and its corresponding resource features from further OHV encroachment, while providing habitat rehabilitation, erosion protection, interpretive opportuntity and ecosystem health improvement over time. The project goals are: restore degraded hillclimb section of trail slope, contour and aspect using heavy equipment machinery to match that of the surrounding area, mechanically decompact and remove the existing visual trail below the hillclimb; recontour ground with the mechanicl heavy equipment and hand crews; add an exclusion peeler core barrier fence to the outer delimiting fence boundary to protect from the site encroachment; reabilitate the palm oasis habitat with ntive plants and seed casting; add two interpretive panels outside the exclusion fence to include native American/cultural use, habitat restoration, and palm oasis ecosystem information; monitor the progress of the rehabilitation and habitat over time, to include ingress, species, composition and diversity, spring monitoring the habitat change over time.
