CDFW is issuing a permit (No. 2081(A)-18-013-RP) to The Chapparral Lands Conservancy pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 2081(a) for a project to conduct Orcutt's spineflower surveys, plant seed of Orcutt's spineflower (Chorizanthe orcuttiana) at new locations, seed and/or plant corms of short-leaved dudleya (Dudleya brevifolia) at new locations, weed and maintain existing natural and introduced Orcutt's spineflower populations, and install fencing and signage to protect populations of both species.
The project will involve data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities, and actions to assure the maintenance, restoration, and enhancement of populations of two endangered species, Orcutt's spineflower and short-leaved dudleya, The project will not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. The permit issued by the CDFW for the project includes measures to ensure that existing populations of Orcutt's spineflower and short-leaved dudleya are not impacted.
