- PG&E proposes to bore a trench under SR 299E in Shasta County at PM 93.029 and install a 1.25" diameter gas pipe into the trench to service the new expansion to Mayers Memorial Hospital. As part of the proposed work, two 5'x8' pits would be bored, a 1.25" curb valve with traffic frame and cover would be installed, a 5M Rotary gas meter with 2 PSIG outlets would be installed, and a 4"x1" bolt and a 1.25"x1" reducer would be installed on a steel tree. Caltrans will issue an encroachment permit (02-18-6-UJ-0433) to allow the proposed improvements to occur within the ROW.

- Caltrans has determined the project to be categorically exempt in accordance with section 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) class 3(d) - construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. Project implementation will have no adverse environmental impacts.
