The proposed Project consists of a Major Certificate of Appropriateness to rehabilitate an existing 5,978 square foot warehouse on a partially developed 1.1-acre site for structural safety and historic reuse. The rehabilitation includes: new exterior openings, replacement of the existing metal roof with a new roof of similar design, structural retrofitting for safety, and interior improvements.

The project is categorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15331 (Historical Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation) and Section 15301 (Existing Facilities). State CEQA Guidelines Section 15331 applies to projects limited to maintenance, repair, stabilization, rehabilitation, restoration, preservation, conservation, or reconstruction of historical resources in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with guidelines for preserving, rehabilitating, Restoring, and Reconstructing Historic Buildings. In addition, State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 applies to projects that consist of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public of private structures facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agencies determination.
