Document Description
DTSC, pursuant to authority granted under CCR, tit 22, div 4.5, chp 20, S 66270.61, has issued an emergency permit to DK Dixon, (EPA ID# CAT080012602) to transfer hazardous waste from a tanker truck into an approved truck and/or container. The permit allows for approx 350 gallons of waste antifreeze to be transferred once the waste has been repackaged by DK Dixon and transferred into an approved truck and/or container. Upon arrival to the DK Dixon facility, the waste antifreeze was tested and found to have a flash point of less than 140 degree F. This classified the waste antifreeze as hazardous waste under the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. DK Dixon does not have a permit to manage RCRA hazardous waste and the tanker truck did not meet specifications that would allow it to transport ignitable hazardous waste; therefore, the permit is required to carry out the action. Once the hazardous waste is transferred, it will be transported offsite to an authorized facility, World Oil Environmental Recycling located in Compton, CA. Note: See NOE for full description.
