Document Description
This project will stabilize one of the residential driveways. The driveway has been sloughing over time creating unstable areas on the driveway and adjacent to the house itself. The area to be fixed is approximately 158 feet in length. The slumped areas will be cut with heavy equipment, and a retaining wall will be constructed and backfilled with the material from the cut. Approximately 10 cubic yards of soil will be disturbed, none of the soil will be taken off site. The retaining wall will be composed of compacted road base and concrete interlocking blocks. Three nonnative trees (Italian cypress) will be removed from the slope prior to work commencing and three native trees will be planted after project completion. Trees will be checked for nests prior to removal by an environmental scientist. No utilities will be uncovered, built over, or removed as part of this project.
