Document Description
The Project includes the connection of the Applicant’s Alta treated water distribution system to Dutch Flat Mutual’s water system. This consists of constructing a new distribution system within Dutch Flat and the decommissioning of the existing Dutch Flat’s water treatment plant and pipelines. The new distribution system will include a pipeline connecting the Alta distribution main directly to Dutch Flat’s existing storage tank and installation of water pipelines as necessary to meet pipe velocity and fire flow requirements. Appurtenant facilities will be installed including valves, fire hydrants, blow-offs, air release valves, water meters, and a flow control station per Applicant’s standard requirements. The pipeline connecting Applicant’s Alta distribution system and Dutch Flat’s distribution system will be equipped with a water meter to monitor the flow entering the existing Dutch Flat water tank. The new distribution system will be constructed parallel to the existing system to allow the existing connections to remain in service during construction. Once the distribution system mains are completed, the existing meters will be replaced and connected to the new distribution mains. After construction of the new distribution system, the existing Dutch Flat’s water treatment plant and old distribution pipeline infrastructure will be decommissioned and abandoned in place.
