Document Description
On April 13, 2021, EBMUD’s Board of Directors approved the Gilman Interchange Recycled Water Pipeline Project (Project) and authorized a utility agreement with Alameda County Transportation Commission to facilitate installation of the recycled water pipeline included in the Project. The utility agreement will result in installation of approximately 2,500 feet of 12-inch steel recycled water pipe at the Gilman Street interchange on and off ramps to Interstate 80 in the City of Berkeley. Approximately 1,000 feet of the pipeline will be within Gilman Street between West Frontage Road and 5th Street, and 1,500 feet will be within Eastshore Highway from Page Street to Gilman Street, where it will be connected to an existing recycled water pipeline. The effects of installing the recycled water pipeline were analyzed in the Interstate 80/Gilman Street Interchange Improvement Project - Initial Study Negative Declaration/ Environmental Assessment with Finding of No Significant Impact, prepared by California Departmentof Transportation (Caltrans). Alameda County Transportation Commission will complete the recycled water pipeline installation work as part of the Interstate 80/Gilman Street Interchange Improvement Project.
