Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-TRI-23766-R1), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, Yang Cheng. The proposed project is limited to the direct replacement of an existing culvert conveying Kellogg Gulch Creek, an intermittent tributary to Hayfork Creek. An existing 36-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert has been determined to be undersized to convey 100-year flow events, misaligned with the channel, eroding at the outlet, and inadequately armored. The culvert will be removed and replaced with a four-foot by eight-foot box culvert set into the substrate to provide a natural bottom. Rock slope protection (RSP) will be placed at the inlet and outlet as necessary to prevent erosional scour and protect the structure. No vegetation removal is required, and the work will be completed while the stream channel is seasonally dry. All areas of ground disturbance near the stream will be stabilized with appropriate erosion control measures such as wattles, jute netting, native seed, and weed-free straw.
