Document Description
The proposed cultivation project described herein (Project) includes the cultivation of up to 10,000 square feet (SF) of mixed-light cannabis located in Trinity County on Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN): 015-420-38-00. The designated area totals approx. 17,388 SF. The applicant is seeking a Small Mixed-Light Cannabis Cultivation License from the County (CCL-523) and holds an Adult-Use Small Mixed-Light Tier 1 Cannabis Cultivation License from the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC; CCL19-0003522). Cultivation activities include 10,000 SF of mixed-light canopy and 2,880 SF of immature plant area in five (5) existing 96-foot (ft) long by 30-ft wide hoop houses that are located in the northern portion of the cannabis cultivation area. Four (4) of the hoop houses comprise the mature cannabis area (the hoop houses total 11,520 sf in size and contain 10,000 sf of mature cannabis canopy). The One (1) remaining hoop house is used as an immature plant area (the hoop house totals 2,880 sf in size). The proposed project would include construction of an approximately 26-ft by 50-ft (1,300 sf) administrative building in the southeast corner of the cannabis cultivation area. The administrative building would include a 520 sf drying area, a 520 sf harvest storage area, a 160 sf processing area, a 70 sf office, and a 30 sf administrative hold area. An existing 12-ft by 14-ft (168 sf) shed in the northwest area of the project site is used to store pesticides and chemicals for cannabis use. The proposed project includes use of a groundwater well for water source. The cultivation is irrigated via a drip system to reduce water loss. The direct footprint of the infrastructure and designated area results in approximately 20,376 SF. A more detailed project description can be found in the attached Appendix C Checklist and the following attachments included with the Appendix C Checklist: Biological Resources Assessment, Cultural Resources Report, Waste Composting Management Plan, Site Management Plan, and Mitigation Measure Applicability Table. SPECIAL NOTES: The Applicant (Phillip Yoon; Nature Barker Valley Farms) previously held an Adult-Use Small Mixed-Light Tier 1 commercial cannabis (Provisional) license from the DCC (CCL19-0003522), which expired 5/22/2022, to cultivate up to 10,000 SF. The applicant, if approved, will need to renew their license with the DCC prior to cultivating. Additionally, the Appendix C Checklist and Site Plans state the area of the Cannabis Waste Storage and Composting Area is 1,200 SF, but do not state the dimensions of the area.
