Document Description
The project is limited to the relocation of approximately 570 linear feet of ephemeral channel into a trapezoidal, armored ditch with a typical top width of 12 feet and 2:1 sloped sides located approximately 50 feet to the east and parallel with the existing channel, and the filling and grading of the original channel and valley west of the armored ditch. Approximately nine native trees will be removed from within a 50-foot buffer of the existing channel and within the path of the armored ditch. Grading will disturb a total area of approximately 3.1 acres and will involve approximately 8,434.6 cubic yards of cut and fill. The final grade of the valley floor will be 7% or less. Check dams (12 total) will be placed every 55 feet along the armored ditch to slow the velocity of water and discourage erosion. The ditch will require the use 550 tons of class III rock slope protection and has been engineered to convey peak storm flows and to prevent sediment from mobilizing off the Project site.
