Document Description
The proposed cultivation project described herein (Project) is the continuation of existing cultivation activities located in Trinity County on Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) 017-450-015-00. The applicant currently holds an Adult Use – Small Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation License from the California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) (CCL21-0002614, expires 2023-09-28) and is applying for a cannabis cultivation license from the Trinity County Planning Department (CCL-192) to cultivate up to 10,000 square feet (sf) of mature outdoor canopy. The existing cultivation currently includes (230) 3.14’ x 3.5 x 3.5’ (8,847 sqft total) of mature canopy in 5’ x 5’ boxes, and immature plants will be in a 10’ x 20’ (200 sqft), 8’ x 10’ (80 sqft), and 8’ x 12’ (96 sqft) designated areas. Other supporting structures include: a 30’ x 60’ (1,800 sqft) secured composting area for cannabis waste; a C for processing; a 8’ x 12’ (96 sqft) shed for harvest storage; and a 12’ x 15’ (180 sqft) shed for agricultural and chemical storage. Water is supplied by a permitted groundwater well and one (1) 2,500 water storage tank. Power is supplied by TPUD. There are no plans for construction or expansion, and there will be no soil disturbance or construction activities. A more detailed project description can be found in the Appendix C Checklist. SPECIAL NOTES: A variance from neighboring structures within 350ft is not required at this time as the neighboring structures are not legal dwellings and therefore are not currently considered as sensitive receptors. Further review and potential variance could be required if/when a neighboring residence is finaled with occupancy. The Waterboards’ Stream Classification Finder identifies a Class II watercourse on site, however an engineered pond spillway was accepted by CDFW for LSAA on Class III; cultivation is setback over 50’ from this ephemeral stream that has been identified by Trinity County as an unnamed Class III watercourse. The Biological Assessment contains conflicting, outdated information referencing “construction of new infrastructure such as an additional greenhouse and a metal processing shed required for this project” which is not accurate and should not be considered as proposed project elements. The map identifies a 12’ x 26’ area for processing that is not in the project elements.
