Document Description
The proposed cultivation project described herein (Project) includes the cultivation of up to 10,000 square feet (SF) of outdoor mature canopy located in Trinity County on Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN): 015-420-013-000. The applicant is seeking a Small Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation License from the County (CCL-015) and also holds an Adult-Use Small Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation License from the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC; CCL19-0002086, Expires on 2025-01-24). The proposed project would expand the existing 6,540-sf of mature outdoor cannabis cultivation to approx. 9,920-sf of mature outdoor cannabis cultivation on previously disturbed ground. The proposed expansion would also include the addition of a 624-sf of immature plant area grown in pots on previously disturbed ground. The existing cultivation area consists of 6,540-sf of outdoor plant canopy grown directly in the ground. There is currently 192-sf of immature plant area in designated pots, with additional space for immature plants in a 384-sf shed. There is a 360-sf fenced area dedicated to composting of organic waste located west of the garden. The existing buildings on site include an existing residence and two (2) hickory sheds, 432-sf and 384-sf, used for cannabis processing, harvest storage, administrative hold, an immature plant area, and agricultural chemical storage. The existing site also includes a 120-sf and 100-sf shed for general storage, a 100-sf shed for pesticide and agricultural chemical storage, and a 50-sf trash enclosure. The project site also includes a permitted septic system, groundwater well, and water tanks of various sizes used for cultivation and fire suppression purposes. The proposed project would reconfigure the existing cultivation areas by transforming it from a 6,540-sf block of mature outdoor cannabis canopy into several blocks and rows totaling 9,920-sf of mature outdoor cannabis canopy. There will be eleven rows, ten of which will be 600-sf and the eleventh row will be 420-sf, one 1,880-sf plot, one 1,500-sf plot, and one 120-sf plot. The mature plant area would include a garden refiguration which would consist of digging holes in the topsoil of a former vegetable garden using hand tools. There would be 624-sf dedicated to immature plants in three separate rectangular areas. The immature plants would be loosely placed on the ground in pots until they are tall enough to be placed in the mature garden. The immature plants would be located in a former vegetable garden. No grading would be required for either the proposed mature or immature plant areas, and no heavy machinery would be used. A more detailed project description can be found in the associated Appendix C Checklist.
