Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-TRI-50338-R1), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, Jon Stanforth. In May 2016, two ephemeral streams were altered to convey flows into two separate modified channels by the landowner. Channel one was excavated approximately 450 ft. in length, 1 foot in depth, and 3 ft. in width (50 cubic yards). Channel two was excavated approximately 350 ft. in length, 1-foot in depth, and 3 ft. in width (138.9 cubic yards). Water slowly infiltrates as it flows down the modified channel, and flow tapers off by the end of the channel. This modified channel will be restored to its original configuration at the point at which excavation began in May 2016. The modified channel will be refilled and planted with native plant species that occurred in this location prior to excavation. A bio-swale will be installed to recapture and infiltrate the water that comes down the ephemeral waterways which now feeds the modified channel.
