Document Description
The project consists of the replacement of one undersized culvert on unnamed ephemeral tributary to the Eel River. The existing fifteen-inch diameter culvert is incapable of conveying the flow of a 100-year storm event and will be removed and replaced with a twenty-four-inch culvert at stream grade and alignment. All existing fill material will be excavated to native soil to remove unstable debris and any voids. If the new culvert cannot be set to stream grade, it will be installed to the lower one-third of the fill face and a downspout and/or energy dissipater such as competently sized rock slope protection (RSP) will be installed at the outfall as needed to prevent erosion. Any backfill material will be compacted and free of rocks, limb, or other debris that could result in seepage around the culvert pipe.
