Document Description
The proposed cultivation project described herein (Project) currently includes the cultivation of up to 10,000 SF of cannabis cultivation, located in Trinity County on Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN): 018-050-69-00. The applicant is seeking a Small Mixed-Light Cannabis Cultivation License (CCL-645) and holds a Specialty Mixed-Light Cannabis Cultivation License and a Specialty Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation License from the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC; CCL20-0000670 and CCL20-0000674). Cultivation activities include 4,320 SF of mixed-light and 4,800 SF of outdoor, for a total cultivation area of 9,120 SF, in addition to 6,160 SF of existing immature plant area. The project proposes to replace the 4,800 SF of outdoor mature canopy with 4,800 SF of mixed-light Additional support infrastructure includes 24’x50’ Shop with proposed immature plant area, processing admin hold and harvest storage; three (3) 3,000gal and a 2,500gal water storage tanks; a 1,500gal and a 550gal mixing tanks; 8’x12’ chemical storage area, 8’x20’ general storage, 10’x12’ general storage, 10’x20’ compost area, proposed 10’x12’ Chemical Storage area, eight (8) proposed 5,000gal water storage tanks. The proposed project includes the use of a groundwater well for a water source. The cultivation is irrigated via a drip system to reduce water loss. A more detailed project description can be found in the Appendix C Checklist. SPECIAL NOTES: Results from the Cultural Resources Investigation, prepared by Archaeological Research and Supply Company, dated February 2022, resulted in no archaeological findings, although the records search revealed seven (7) previous surveys conducted within ½ mile of the property and one previously recorded finding on the property. All previously recorded archaeological resources are outside the proposed project parcel and will remain unaffected by the project activities. However, the Cultural Resource Investigation recommends that a tribal monitor or licensed archaeologist be present for any future ground-disturbing activities. The County shall ensure this requirement is included in the conditions of approval for the project. Additionally, the Project states that it holds a Specialty Mixed-Light Tier 1 and a Specialty Outdoor commercial cannabis cultivation license from the DCC; however, the DCC licenses found are listed for Specialty Outdoor only. Although this Project is describing cultivation operations as Small-Mixed light, no artificial lighting during the flowering period is currently described in the Appendix C Checklist as existing or proposed in any of the 6’ hoop tunnels and therefore all mature canopy for this project could be defined as outdoor. If supplemental light during the flowering period is proposed for use in future plans, Resubmission of the Appendix C Checklist with further CEQA review could be required.
