Document Description
The proposed cultivation project described herein (Project) includes the cultivation of up to 10,000 square feet (SF) of mixed-light cannabis located in Trinity County on Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN): 014-300-18-00. The applicant is seeking a Small Mixed-Light Cannabis Cultivation License from the County (CCL-602) and currently holds a Small Mixed-Light Tier 1 Cannabis Cultivation License from the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC; CCL21-0000203).Cultivation activities include 7,680 SF of mixed-light canopy area and 3,712 square feet of immature canopy. The proposed project includes use of a groundwater well for water source. The cultivation is irrigated via a drip system to reduce water loss. The direct footprint of the infrastructure and designated area results in approximately 14,992 SF. A more detailed project description can be found in the Appendix C Checklist. SPECIAL NOTES: Vegetation removal occurred between 2019 – 2020 for development of the 3,200-square-foot multi-use building that is used for immature plants, processing, and storage. The Biological Assessment prepared by Flowra dated January 19, 2021, does specifically address this vegetation removal. Typically, January is outside of the seasonally appropriate time for plant surveys. Additionally, the County may consider requesting an addendum to the Biological Assessment to evaluate the vegetation removal that occurred between 2019 – 2020 and include mitigation for the potential loss of habitat that occurred for site development. The 20x100 hoophouse (in Project Elements Section of Appendix C Checklist for APN 014-300-18) is described as an existing structure was installed in a previously disturbed area. Installation occurred after county inspection was performed on 2/16/2023, however no heavy machinery was used with no additional impact, and therefore Mitigation Measures including but not limited to: Nesting bird, Nesting raptor and Temporary Construction Noise were not required.
