Document Description
The County of Tuolumne (County) proposes to replace the bridge on Rawhide Road at Woods Creek in the community of Jamestown, California. The bridge replacement will realign Rawhide Road and move the intersection of Rawhide Road and SR 49/108 to the northeast. Implementation of the proposed Project would result in the widening of SR 49/108 at the new intersection with Rawhide Road and Main Street, and would also require limiting access at the intersection of Jamestown Road and SR 49/108. Other ancillary improvements would include trenching and utility installation/relocation and roadway striping. The existing one-lane bridge over Woods Creek will be retained as a pedestrian footbridge.
1. Address safety concerns associated with the continued use of a functionally insufficient, one-lane bridge.
2. Improve the inadequate horizontal and vertical sight distance conditions at the existing intersection between Rawhide Road and SR 49/108; and
3. Improve traffic circulation in the Project site.
