Document Description
The California Department of Parks and Recreation proposes to construct accessibility improvements to facilities within Torrey Pines State Beach to provide improved visitation opportunities to a larger demographic of the population as required by the Tucker vs. State of California consent decree. Improvements would include modifications to, but not necessarily limited to, parking, routes of travel, picnic sites, restrooms, and other visitor serving facilities. Project requirements have been incorporated into this project to avoid and/or minimize environmental impact. No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated in compliance with section 15300.2. If the project is implemented as indicated within the CDPR Project Evaluation Form including mesures provided by CDPR staff, then it is exempt under the CDPR list of exempt activities according to CEQA 15300.4 as: class 1 existing facilities: "modifications of existing facilities for handicap access" & class 11 accessory structures: "construction or installation of additional public use facilities" (signage, picnic tables).
