Document Description
The purpose of the project is to mitigate impacted soils and groundwater which exceed the project-specific risk to human health and the environment and minimize contaminant concentrations for the identified chemicals of concern at the Union Pacific Oakland Coliseum Site. To accomplish this, the DTSC is approving a RAW by pursuant to Health & Safety Code, chapter 6.8 as submitted on March 5, 2018 by GHD. The RAW focuses on hotspot excavation and removal; enhanced in-situ bioremediation of groundwater, monitored natural attenuation of groundwater, installation of an asphalt surface cap, and implementation of a land use covenant to mitigate soils and groundwater impacted with excessive levels of chlorinated volatile organic compounds, polychlorinated biphenyls, and metals including arsenic and lead onsite.
