DTSC has approved a Class 1* Modification Hazardous Waste Facility (HWF) Permit for Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems (Raytheon) in accordance with CCR title 22 section 66270.42(a)(2), and Appendix I (D)(1)(d) to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. Raytheon has requested DTSC approve a modification to the Closure Plan, previously approved in 2007 (SCH 2007108283). Specifically, the modification will allow conversion of the East and West Yards of Solid Waste Management Unit 1 (SWMU-1) to 90-day hazardous waste storage areas, rather than demolishing the East and West Yards as previously approved in the 2007 Closure Plan.
