Document Description
The proposed project consists of drilling two new cyclic steam wells in the Cymric oil field in Kern County as part of UIC Project Code 19024128. The wells will be drilled on Federal mineral lease CAS0020995 and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has prepared Environmental Assessment (EA), Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), and Decision Record documents prior to issuing a permit.

15261B - Ongoing project: The Division has determined that the project is statutorily exempt under the ongoing project (14 CCR 15261(b)) exemption per the CEQA guidelines b/c the Division identified the Midway-Sunset oil field and issued permits in this oil field pre-CEQA (prior to April 5, 1973). Additional permits issued in the densely-developed areas of the Midway Sunset oil field are considered part of an ongoing project and exempt from further CEQA reviews.
