Document Description
The development consists of reconstructing the District Administrative Offices, which includes, interior renovations of 2 permanent buildings and 6 portable buildings; demolition of 13 portables; construction of a 2,400 sf Food Service building; installation of 43 portables and two small restroom buildings (approx 42,240 sf). The total number of staff would not increase. The project includes adding approx 220 parking spaces to the north and east of the portables. Approx 108 of the north parking spaces would be covered by a solar carport, approx 10 ft tall by 540 ft long, that would provide electrical power to the portable buildings. The beneficiaries of the project are the Val Verde USD's staff.

The permanent and portable buildings are public structures and interior remodeling are minor alterations involving negligible expansion of the use, and thus is exempt under the class 1 exemption. Demolishing District Office buildings and relocating them to another portion of the site, with the same exact capacity of 147 staff, and the same administrative use is exempt under the class 2 exemption. The addition of the new 2,400 sf Food Service building is a small structure, accessory to the District's Offices and does not involve the use of hazardous substances and is exempt under the class 3 exemption.
