Document Description
The project includes relocating the Darling Ingredients, INC. rendering facility from its current location on Belgravia Ave, just southwest of downtown, to the underdeveloped, 40 acre, City-owned parcel east of the existing RWRF. The facility would expand its peak daily processing operations from approx. 850,000 pounds to approx. 2 million pounds, which is consistent with the proposed permitted volume of up to 10 million pounds per week. The project would require a Conditional Use Permit, and a General Plan Amendment and Rezone from the existing "Public Facility" land use designation and "Public and Institutional" zoning classification to a "Heavy Industrial" land use designation and "Industrial-Heavy" zoning classification.
