Document Description
CDFW is issuing a permit to Jodi McGraw pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 2081(a) for a project to examine the effectiveness of three seed application methods and three habitat treatments on San Fernando Valley spineflower establishment. Seeding and experimental habitat manipulations will occur in fall 2018, and the plants will be monitored in 2019 and 2020. Monitoring will include conducting a census of the population and collecting leaf measurements. Additionally, at the end of each growing season, a max of 600 plants will be analyzed at the Permittee's laboratory and then returned to the study plots in the summer following the analysis.

The project will facilitate the recovery of the CA endangered San Fernando Valley spineflower by investigating the effects of different seeding methods and habitat components on the performance and establishment of San Fernando Valley spineflower. The permit issued by CDFW for the project includes measures to ensure that existing populations of San Fernando Valley spineflower.
