NOE - Notice of Exemption
Caltrans using State and Federal funds, is proposing to conduct a geotechnical investigation on SR 299 in Trinity from PM 13.4 to 13.7. The purpose of the investigation is to collect data on subsurface conditions and records various parameters, including ground movement. The geotechnical investigation is needed because the data collected will be used to design a retaining wall to prevent SR 299 from slipping and/or falling, which could result in the closure of this important trade and recreational corridor.
Caltrans has determined the project to be categorically exempt in accordance with Section 15306 (Information Collection) Class 6 - Basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource.
