- Caltrans using State and Federal funds, is proposing to conduct a geotechnical investigation on SR 299 in Trinity from PM 13.4 to 13.7. The purpose of the investigation is to collect data on subsurface conditions and records various parameters, including ground movement. The geotechnical investigation is needed because the data collected will be used to design a retaining wall to prevent SR 299 from slipping and/or falling, which could result in the closure of this important trade and recreational corridor.
