Document Description
Complete improvements at Residence 5 in Columbia State Historic Park, to bring the building up to code and provide future tenants with safe and habitable living quarters. Work will: - Replace interior and exterior doors, windows, siding, trim and roof with in-kind materials; - Upgrade the electrical system and install new switches, outlets, plats, fixtures and a 220 voltage outlet; - replace all galvanized steel water supply lines with Pex; - replace existing sewer components with ABS piping; - excavate a 24'L by 12" WX18" D trench for outlet and lamps storage area; - remove the existing undersized bedroom closets and construct 1 new 2'x6" wide closet in each bedroom; - install new sheet vinyl flooring in the bathroom, kitchen and utility room and carpeting in the living room and bedrooms; - install a wood or pellet stove, hearth and necessary 8" diameter flue; - install a new forced air HVAC system; - install a tankless propane water heater; - prime and paint all new wooden trim, siding, doors, interior walls and cabinetry; - demolish existing cement sidewalk and pour a new 4' wide ADA compliant walkway; - convert an existing carport to storage; frame in an approx. 20' x 13' opening, pour a concrete slab that will rest on existing grade, and install two 48" double doors; and - re-stack a limestone wall at the property line and use local Columbia Limestone to add an additional 2' in height.

The project consists of minor alterations of existing public structures involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced and are listed as "Modifications of existing facilities for disabled access" and "reroofing" in the Parks and Rec's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR 15300.4; the minor public alterations in the condition of land and vegetation that do not include removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees, and is limited to the maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of historic resources, in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring and Reconstructing Historic Buildings, Weeks and Grimmer.
