Document Description
In 2017, a gabion basket structure, approximately filled with 320 cubic yards of native streambed material, was build with Soquel Creek without a Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration submitted to CDFW. The structure built was approximately 4x4x60 and spanned approximately three fourths of the width of Soquel Creek.
The subject of the Streambed Alteration Agreement is the removal of the gabion basket structure and remediation of activities that were conduction in 2017 without Notification to CDFW.
The project is limited to the hand removal of a rock gabion constructed from native streambed cobbles. The cobble will be distributed by hand onto dry portions of the streambed and not placed within the flowing stream. The metal wiring portion of the gabion baskets will be removed and property disposed of off-site.
