Document Description
The proposed project consists of minor internal and external building modifications to the EDD San Bernardino office building, which was constructed in 1954 and remodeled in year 2000. The scope of work includes all materials and equipment necessary to mitigate ADA accessibility points and to upgrade the building for seismic compliance. Specific ADA compliance modifications to the building exterior include demolition and reconstruction of the existing exterior path of travel to the building's west entrance and demolition and removal of ramp, stairs, and doors to the building's south entrance, replaced with a new curb, and additional accessible parking spaces. The doorway will be reconfigured with a new window similar to the windows located on the north side of the building. ADA compliance modifications to the interior of the building include resetting partitions in the existing restrooms, installing new signage, and new LED lighting, where required. Seismic upgrades to the building include replacing ceiling tiles and grid system, and adding seismic anchors around the perimeter walls. Project benefits include enhanced accessibility and improved seismic security.
