- The project will construct a new trailhead and improve public access by rerouting a portion of the Brad Freeman Bike Trail outside of a new security perimeter fence around Hyatt Powerplant. Trail reroute will consist of no more than 28,800 sf (0.66 ac) of disturbed area in total. Soil will not be imported or exported except at SFWP penstock crossing where approx 60 yards of fill (base rock and road base) will be required to build trail up to the level required to cross the existing corrugated metal arch pipe under Oro Dam Blvd. 3 culverts or bridges will be used so cross 3 intermittent drainages/swales that are not tributaries to the Feather River. A bridge or culvert will be used to cross the South Feather Water and Power bypass drainage and a bridge will also be used to cross the Palermo Canal. A new trailhead is required to replace the parking area near the Hyatt guard shack and will consist of a gravel parking area, boulders to control vehicle access, and a pipe gate. Approx 16,000 sf (0.37 ac) of parking will require 450 cuyd of 3/4" minus gravel to be imported (9-in thick surface).
