Document Description
City of Sacramento is conducting a one-year 2018 Groundwater Substitution Water Transfer Program. Sacramento will pump an additional 8,071 acre-feet of groundwater from July through September 2018 to substitute for reduced deliveries of surface water. With 8% streamflow depletion, up to 7,425.3 acre feet of surface water foregone by Sacramento will be made available to Kern County Water Agency and Dudley Ridge Water District during July through September 2018. The DWR will convey the transfer water to KCWA and DRWD between July 1 through September 30, 2018.

Sacramento filed a Petition for Temporary Change with the SWRCB on May 10, 2018, pursuant to Water Code 1725 et seq. The SWRCB approved the transfer on July 12, 2018. In accordance with Water Code 1729, temporary changes filed in accordance with Water Code, 1725, et seq are exempt from the requirements of CEQA.
